GTA 6 DualSense pre-orders open September 10: price, timing and the two editions explained

When pre-orders open — and what the price actually covers

Sony gives September 10 at 10am local time for France, the UK, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg through PlayStation Direct. In the US, the opening is 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern. These are regional pre-order times, not the moment GTA VI becomes playable. Both controllers have a recommended price of €84.99 in euros, $84.99 in the US and £74.99 in the UK. The announcement concerns the controllers; it does not describe a controller-and-game bundle. Launch starts November 19, with Sony explicitly allowing for regional differences.

Black and white do not have identical distribution

The White Limited Edition is planned for PlayStation Direct and participating retailers in limited quantities. The Black Limited Edition is exclusive to PlayStation Direct in regions where that service is available, with selected retailers serving other regions. France is on Sony’s PlayStation Direct list. For a buyer choosing the black version, that distribution rule matters more than a generic instruction to check every shop. Sony has not supplied a unit count or a restock schedule in the announcement, so “limited edition” is not evidence that either version will sell out immediately.

A Vice City design, not evidence of an exclusive control feature

Sony describes a colour-shifting finish, palm-tree details moulded into the controller and GTA VI branding. The white design draws on Vice City’s daylight palette; the black version uses its nightlife as the visual reference. The same announcement promotes GTA VI’s use of haptic feedback and adaptive triggers on DualSense. It does not identify a gameplay function exclusive to these two editions. That distinction is important: this is an officially themed accessory announcement, not a reason to assume an existing DualSense is inadequate.

What to check before ordering

Use the retailer serving your country, confirm the edition and local price, and read the delivery estimate before paying. Sony advertises free launch-day delivery for eligible direct pre-orders, rather than an unconditional promise for every address.
