Why a PS5 lead and Xbox records can coexist

A larger PlayStation installed base can generate more GTA VI orders in absolute terms while Xbox simultaneously posts its strongest pre-order performance for a game. Ball’s proportional argument is therefore internally coherent: matching the platform’s console share would mean GTA VI demand is not under-indexing among Xbox owners, even if Sony leads the raw count.

The marketing context favors PlayStation visibility

Rockstar’s recent footage has been associated with PS5 capture, while Sony has used GTA VI in hardware and billboard marketing.
