GTA 6 Characters: Jason, Lucia and Every Confirmed Supporting Character
Rockstar has officially named eight character entries for Grand Theft Auto VI: protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, plus Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest, the Real Dimez duo Bae-Luxe and Roxy, Raul Bautista and Brian Heder. Rockstar's biographies establish their backgrounds and some direct connections; preview reporting adds how Jason and Lucia may function as a playable couple. Stephen Root is now the first performer to confirm his participation publicly, with GTA BOOM identifying his character as Brian; the rest of the voice cast, loyalties, endings and most character arcs remain unconfirmed.

The short answer: two leads, seven other named people
Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos are the centre of GTA VI's announced story. Rockstar's synopsis says they have long understood that the deck is stacked against them; after an easy score goes wrong, they become caught in a criminal conspiracy across Leonida and must rely on one another to survive. That is the confirmed premise. Marketing images also show affection, domestic moments and crimes committed together, but they do not reveal the final shape of the relationship or the story's outcome.
The official site has six additional profile entries: Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest, Real Dimez, Raul Bautista and Brian Heder. Real Dimez is a duo — Bae-Luxe and Roxy — so the index covers nine individually named people across eight entries. Calling every one of them a protagonist, crew member or villain would overstate what Rockstar has published. They are confirmed characters with stated occupations and relationships, not a disclosed mission chart.
This guide uses four evidence levels. Direct Rockstar copy and plainly visible official footage are confirmed. Details observed during controlled access are reported and attributed to the participant. Connections inferred from editing, imagery or genre conventions are analysis. Performer identities, betrayals, deaths and returning-character claims without first-party support remain rumour or unknown.
Confirmed by Rockstar: Jason Duval
Rockstar describes Jason as someone raised around grifters and crooks. After troubled teenage years he spent time in the Army, then ended up in the Leonida Keys working for local drug runners. The biography frames him as wanting an easier life while repeatedly being pulled toward harder circumstances. It confirms a military stint and criminal work; it does not name his unit, length of service, age or the events behind his adolescence.
Jason is directly connected to Cal Hampton and Brian Heder. Rockstar calls Cal Jason's friend and a fellow associate of Brian. Brian's profile identifies him as a veteran Keys drug runner who continues to move product through his boat yard and lets others handle the dangerous work. The official images place Jason around both men, supporting a Keys-based criminal network before or during the main plot.
Analysis: the biography sets Jason up as a character caught between familiarity and escape. His competence can plausibly draw on Army experience and work for smugglers, but Rockstar has not published a skill tree or said his background grants unique combat abilities. Trailer scenes of him driving, shooting and carrying out robberies demonstrate represented actions, not a complete character-specific mechanics list.

Confirmed by Rockstar: Lucia Caminos
Rockstar says Lucia's father taught her to fight when she was very young. Fighting for her family led to incarceration in Leonida Penitentiary, and the official biography says luck secured her release. It also says her mother dreamed of a better life from the family's days in Liberty City and that Lucia intends to pursue that goal through deliberate action. These are the clearest first-party facts about her past.
Trailer 1 independently supports the incarceration element by showing Lucia inside a correctional setting, addressed by name. Trailer 2 shows Jason collecting her after confinement and depicts the pair in domestic, leisure and criminal contexts. The edit establishes that both characters share substantial screen time, but it cannot prove the order of every scene or whether the release shown is the same event described by every later profile sentence.
Analysis: Lucia's published motivation is more specific than a simple desire for money. Family obligation, experience of prison and her mother's idea of the good life give the character a reason to value planning and control. That interpretation is grounded in Rockstar's copy, but the consequences — reconciliation, renewed incarceration, escape or tragedy — are deliberately withheld.

Reported from preview access: how Jason and Lucia play together
Dazed's feature, based on access to Rockstar and interviews with its developers, reports that players can control Jason or Lucia independently or operate as a couple. Its concrete example follows a job in which control can move from Jason driving to Lucia using the in-game phone, then between driving and firing at pursuers during the escape. Because this detail comes from a preview demonstration rather than the public biography, GTA 6 Watch labels it reported until Rockstar documents the system publicly or the retail game can be tested.
Dazed also describes shared leisure and a relationship affected by what the pair experience and how the player responds while controlling them. Eurogamer's report accurately frames those details as coming from Dazed's preview and discusses a relationship system. Neither article supplies the complete rule set, failure states or range of endings. Terms such as 'morality system' should therefore remain a reporter's interpretation unless Rockstar defines the variables itself.
The distinction matters because dual protagonists do not automatically imply a repeat of Grand Theft Auto V's three-way switching. The reported example indicates fluid changes during a shared sequence and the option to spend time together or apart. It does not establish switching availability in every mission, what happens when the pair are far apart, whether one can permanently leave the story, or how progress is divided between them.
Confirmed supporting cast: Cal, Brian and the Keys network
Cal Hampton is Jason's friend and, like Jason, an associate of Brian. Rockstar characterises him as happiest at home, drinking beer, browsing privately and monitoring Coast Guard communications. That establishes his connection and habits. It does not confirm that surveillance is a player-controlled activity, that Cal joins every heist or that his suspicions are correct.
Brian Heder is described as an old-school Keys smuggler who still runs product through his boat yard with Lori, his third wife. Rockstar says Jason lives rent-free at one of Brian's properties in exchange for helping with the operation. The arrangement gives Jason shelter, work and an obligation; whether Brian functions as mentor, employer, exploiter or eventual antagonist is interpretation until the story supplies context.
Together the profiles outline a local chain: Brian owns or controls useful property and a smuggling operation; Jason works within that orbit; Cal is linked to both men. This is the clearest officially stated supporting relationship around Jason. It should not be expanded into an organisational hierarchy, because Rockstar has not named a gang, rank structure or loyalty outcome for the group.
Confirmed supporting cast: Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest and Real Dimez
Boobie Ike is a Vice City figure who converted street success into legitimate holdings across real estate, a strip club and a recording studio. Rockstar presents the Jack of Hearts club as the centre of his business and says his partnership with Dre'Quan Priest, through Only Raw Records, is focused on music. 'Legitimate empire' is Rockstar's characterisation; the surrounding criminal world means readers should not infer that every activity or asset is lawful without story evidence.
Dre'Quan Priest is described as more hustler than gangster, with music as his goal even while selling drugs to survive. Rockstar says signing Real Dimez could move him beyond booking performers into Boobie's club and toward the wider Vice City music scene. That makes Boobie a business partner and Real Dimez a signed act. It does not confirm a playable record-label management system or a betrayal between the partners.
Real Dimez are Bae-Luxe and Roxy, high-school friends who turned confrontations with local dealers into money through rap and a persistent social-media presence. The official profile connects them to Dre'Quan and references earlier success with rapper DWNPLY. Rockstar confirms the duo and their career context; the content and mechanical role of their social feeds, performances or missions remain undisclosed.

Confirmed supporting cast: Raul Bautista
Raul Bautista is the most explicitly heist-oriented supporting character in Rockstar's profiles. He is described as an experienced bank robber with confidence, charm and cunning, continually looking for people willing to accept large risks for large rewards. Official imagery associates him with armed jobs and crews, but imagery alone cannot tell us whether he recruits Jason and Lucia, competes with them or changes sides.
Analysis: Raul's biography positions him as a likely bridge from small jobs to larger scores. That is a narrative reading, not a published mission order. The language about finding talent suggests recruitment, while the emphasis on risk creates obvious potential for conflict. Rockstar has not confirmed the number of robberies, Raul's survival or whether players can refuse his work.
Relationship map: what is stated and what is inferred
The confirmed links are limited but useful. Jason and Lucia are the central pair forced to depend on each other. Jason is Cal's friend. Jason and Cal are associates of Brian, and Jason's housing is tied to work for Brian. Boobie and Dre'Quan are business partners in a record label. Dre'Quan has signed Real Dimez. Raul seeks capable people for high-risk robberies, but Rockstar's short biography does not explicitly name his recruits.
Beyond those links, montage editing creates hypotheses rather than facts. Two characters appearing in adjacent shots may never meet in the finished scene. A person holding a gun near another character may be ally, enemy or incidental background. Even official cover art is a composition, not a diagram of loyalties. The safe reading is to preserve the explicit links and wait for dialogue, mission descriptions or the released game before drawing a complete crew chart.
Rockstar's synopsis makes trust the thematic centre of Jason and Lucia's story. Trailer 1 ends with a spoken promise of trust, and later marketing repeatedly places them together. That supports a partnership under pressure. It does not confirm a fixed romance, marriage, betrayal, multiple endings or a Bonnie-and-Clyde retelling. Those labels are critical shorthand and community comparison, not Rockstar's announced plot.
- Confirmed: Jason and Lucia must rely on each other after a failed score.
- Confirmed: Jason is Cal's friend; both are connected to Brian.
- Confirmed: Boobie and Dre'Quan are business partners; Real Dimez are signed to Dre'Quan.
- Reported: preview access showed Jason and Lucia playable together or independently.
- Unknown: final loyalties, betrayals, deaths, endings and the complete mission roster.
Rumor and unknown: actors, returning characters and hidden roles
Rockstar has not published a complete GTA VI voice-and-performance cast. Stephen Root is now the first exception to the previous silence: Associated Press carries his personal confirmation that he is part of the game, and GTA BOOM reports that he named Brian Heder as the character. Online comparisons of voices, faces, résumés, follows or social posts can still generate leads, but Root's confirmation does not validate any other proposed casting. A performer should be named as confirmed only through Rockstar, the performer or representative, formal credits, or strong on-record reporting with a clear basis.
No previous Grand Theft Auto protagonist is confirmed to return by the official character index, trailers or the cited preview. Familiar surnames, clothing, businesses, cars and locations can be references without establishing that an older character appears. Claims about Niko Bellic, Tommy Vercetti, Michael, Franklin, Trevor or GTA Online avatars therefore remain rumour unless new evidence identifies them directly.
The current index is not necessarily the complete cast. Rockstar may be withholding employers, law-enforcement figures, family members, antagonists or characters whose names would spoil the plot. Lori and DWNPLY are mentioned in official copy but do not have equivalent profile entries, illustrating the difference between a named person and a featured cast profile. Absence from the marketing index is not proof of absence from the game.
What would change this guide
A new Rockstar character profile, trailer, manual, store description or Newswire post can add a confirmed fact, but only within what it actually says or shows. An access report can add observed behaviour if the outlet identifies the conditions and the article keeps the claim attributed. Retail credits and on-record performer announcements would settle casting questions. The released game will ultimately establish playable scope, mission relationships and outcomes, subject to spoiler handling.
Updates will preserve the record rather than silently replacing it. If a preview feature changes before launch, this page will retain the earlier attribution and note what the shipping version does differently. If a rumoured performer is confirmed, the earlier uncertainty still matters: later confirmation does not make unsupported identification reliable in retrospect.
For now, the durable conclusion is narrower than many cast lists suggest. GTA VI has two named leads with complementary criminal histories and seven other officially named people spread across smuggling, surveillance, nightlife, music and bank robbery. Rockstar has drawn the network's starting lines; most loyalties, mechanics and consequences are intentionally still hidden.
How the GTA 6 cast was revealed
Trailer 1 introduces Lucia and the central partnership
The first trailer names Lucia in a correctional-facility scene and closes with her and a then-unnamed partner committing a robbery after an exchange about trust. It establishes the partnership but not the man's name, either character's complete biography or a playable-character system.
Trailer 2 and Rockstar's site name the wider cast
Rockstar identifies Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, publishes biographies and image sets for six supporting entries, and describes a failed easy score that draws the pair into a Leonida-wide criminal conspiracy.
Preview reporting describes playing as a couple
Dazed's access-based feature reports that players can control Jason and Lucia independently or together and switch between them during a job. Eurogamer reports and contextualises those observations; these are attributed preview findings, not wording taken from Rockstar's public character biographies.
Current public cast record
Rockstar's official GTA VI page continues to list the same eight character entries. At that point no performer had publicly confirmed a role and Rockstar had not issued a first-party cast list.
Stephen Root confirms he is part of GTA VI
Associated Press publishes Root's on-record confirmation that he is in the cast. GTA BOOM reports that he identified his role as Brian Heder. This establishes the first dependable performer identification, but does not confirm any other proposed cast member.
