Confirmed

GTA 6’s trailer song gives King Gizzard its first Billboard Hot 100 entry

The music accompanying GTA VI’s launch trailer has reached a milestone outside the game. “Flower in a Hurricane”, by Justice featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, enters the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 62 on the chart dated October 31. It is King Gizzard’s first appearance on that singles chart, according to Billboard.

A chart result, not another soundtrack announcement

[Billboard reported the debut on October 26](https://www.billboard.com/music/chart-beat/king-gizzard-and-the-lizard-wizard-first-hot-100-hit-gta-6-1236368170/), so the chart’s October 31 date should not be mistaken for the day the song was released. The track arrived on October 15 alongside the launch trailer. This story follows that existing release rather than presenting the collaboration as newly announced today. Billboard cites Luminate figures of 4.6 million US official streams, one million radio audience impressions and 1,000 US sales during October 16–22. Streams, audience impressions and purchases are different measures: the numbers cannot simply be added together as a count of individual listeners.

A milestone for one collaborator, not a first hit for everyone

The first-entry distinction belongs specifically to King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Billboard identifies this as Justice’s second Hot 100 appearance, while Tame Impala and SZA already have their own chart histories. Describing it as a first hit for the entire collaboration would erase that distinction. It is also important not to confuse the Hot 100 singles chart with an album ranking. The result tells us about this recording’s performance in the US, not the eventual sales of GTA VI: The Album or the game itself.

The album and the original score remain separate releases

The track’s place in the [launch trailer](https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/517572321a549a/watch-the-grand-theft-auto-vi-launch-trailer) helped make it part of GTA VI’s public identity before players could explore Leonida. Its soundtrack connection does not make every upcoming music release the same product. Rockstar’s newer [Original Score announcement](https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/39ak8a12395591/grand-theft-auto-vi-original-score-by-justice) concerns Justice’s adaptive score and a December 11 release, alongside the single “Pusher” with Gesaffelstein. That is distinct from GTA VI: The Album, scheduled for November 19. Our score follow-up explains that release separately.

What the chart cannot tell us about the trailer’s effect

A prominent trailer can introduce a recording to people who would not otherwise encounter it. But the chart figures alone do not isolate how much listening came from GTA fans, existing followers of the four credited acts, radio exposure or other promotion. Calling this a success connected to GTA VI is justified; assigning every stream to the trailer would go further than the evidence. The result is a useful reminder that Rockstar’s music campaign has an audience of its own. Its progress can be measured without turning a song’s chart position into a prediction about the game’s reviews or commercial opening.
