GTA V is leaving PS Plus on November 17, according to Sony notifications
PlayStation LifeStyle reports a November 17 departure from Extra and Premium. The catalog deadline is separate from purchased copies and does not announce a GTA Online shutdown.
SOURCE IMAGEA deadline for subscribers returning to Los Santos
Grand Theft Auto V is due to leave the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium catalogs on November 17, according to a Sony console notification reported by PlayStation LifeStyle. The outlet published the information on October 13. This is a subscription-access update, not a newly announced change to the game itself. For players relying on the catalog to revisit Los Santos, the date is the practical detail: access through that particular benefit is scheduled to end.
What Sony reportedly told players
The notification quoted by PlayStation LifeStyle encourages a return to GTA V while waiting for GTA VI on November 19. It also points players toward purchasing GTA V or pre-ordering the sequel. That places the reported catalog deadline two days before the advertised GTA VI release. The message does not establish why the catalog arrangement is ending, and the proximity of the dates is not proof that Rockstar requested its removal to increase sequel sales. Push Square separately reports the same November 17 notification.
A catalog download is not the same as a purchase
Sony distinguishes the rotating Game Catalog from its monthly-games benefit. Its official FAQ says some catalog games have end dates, while monthly games added to a library remain playable with an active membership. The same FAQ explains that associated purchased add-ons can become inaccessible when the base game leaves the service; buying the title provides a way to use those add-ons again. Downloading a catalog game should therefore not be treated as securing a permanent purchase. Players should check which entitlement they actually hold before buying anything twice.
What this does not announce
A catalog removal is not a server-closure notice. Nothing in the reported message establishes that GTA Online is shutting down, that separately purchased GTA V copies are being withdrawn, or that GTA VI will replace it as a PlayStation Plus game. Those would each require their own announcement. The useful distinction is between access supplied by a subscription and the continuing availability of a game through other arrangements.
Check the listing attached to your account
Sony notes that game availability varies by territory and directs players to the PlayStation Plus hub on their console for their local selection. Check the GTA V listing, the edition installed and your account purchase history before deciding what to do next. This report concerns the Extra and Premium catalog notice; it is not a universal shutdown countdown or a promise about every regional storefront.
