Unofficial GTA V Android and Switch ports shut down after reported Take-Two legal action
The developer behind unofficial native GTA V ports for the original Nintendo Switch and Android says Paralympics Productions will close on October 3. Project lead M0jso calls the decision definitive and thanks Take-Two for its ‘mercy’. VideoCardz reports that the team received a cease-and-desist, but the legal document has not been published. This is the end of a fan-made porting project, not the cancellation of an announced Rockstar release.
GTA 6 WATCH VISUALThe project lead confirms an October 3 shutdown
M0jso wrote on September 28 that Paralympics Productions is shutting down on October 3, apologized for leaving supporters without a finished release and described the outcome as definitive. The same message thanked Take-Two for its mercy. That public statement confirms the closure. It does not reproduce a legal demand or explain the settlement terms, if any.
What was being built
The group had shown GTA V running natively on the original Nintendo Switch and was working on a separate Android version intended for ARM hardware, rather than running the Windows game through a compatibility layer. VideoCardz reports that the Android build was meant to add touch controls and improved performance. These were unofficial community projects; Rockstar and Take-Two never announced them as products.
The cease-and-desist is reported, not published
VideoCardz says M0jso answered ‘maybe’ when asked whether Rockstar had sent a cease-and-desist, while the project’s Telegram announcement reportedly stated, ‘Yes it’s a C&D.’ The outlet also reports that M0jso considered Take-Two’s legal position strong. Without the document, the responsible description is reported legal action rather than a claim about its exact allegations, deadlines or parties.
No source release or successor project is planned
According to VideoCardz, M0jso says the source code will not be released and another developer will not take over. A planned performance update and the Android version are therefore cancelled with the organisation’s closure. That conclusion concerns this codebase and team; it does not prevent an unrelated clean-room project or an official port, neither of which is established by the current evidence.
What this does not say about GTA 6
The story involves GTA V and Take-Two’s rights enforcement, not GTA 6 development, platforms or launch timing. It provides no evidence for a GTA 6 mobile version, a Nintendo Switch 2 edition or a change to Rockstar’s announced PS5 and Xbox Series X|S release. Treating the shutdown as a GTA 6 platform signal would go beyond the source material.
