GamesBeat reports that Rockstar is targeting the first three months of 2027 for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI. Alexander Lee’s October 13 article cites four unnamed industry sources familiar with the studio’s plans. It is a significant new report, but not a PC release announcement from Rockstar.

What GamesBeat actually reports

The reported window is the first calendar quarter of 2027: January, February or March. It is not a reference to Take-Two’s differently numbered fiscal quarters. GamesBeat says its four sources requested anonymity to protect business relationships and that a Rockstar representative had not responded before publication. Those details describe the basis and limits of the report. Other sites repeating it do not add further independently sourced confirmations simply by publishing the same claim.

A much shorter gap, if the target survives

GamesBeat contrasts the potential turnaround with GTA V, which arrived on PC in April 2015 after its original console launch in September 2013. An early-2027 PC release after November 19, 2026 would be a very different schedule. That comparison explains the interest in the report, but it cannot guarantee the new timetable. Development plans, certification work and quality targets can still change before a publisher commits publicly to a date.

The official platform list has not changed

At the time of this check, Rockstar’s GTA VI homepage advertises November 19, 2026 and identifies PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It does not supply a PC date. One paragraph in GamesBeat’s article refers to a November 2027 console launch, contradicting its own introduction and Rockstar’s page; we have not repeated that apparent typo. The console date and the reported PC window should be read as two different kinds of information, one public and official, the other attributed reporting about plans.

What PC players still cannot plan around

The report does not establish a particular release day, minimum specifications, performance targets or which PC storefronts would carry the game. Nor should the PC window be converted into a confirmed date for GTA VI’s online component or role-playing tools. Those are separate product announcements. An official Rockstar statement or dated store listing would materially change the status of this story; until then, January to March 2027 remains a reported target rather than a promise on which to base a purchase.
