Rockstar suggests GTA 6 will not recreate Orlando’s theme parks or Florida’s Space Coast exactly

GTA 6’s Leonida may not recreate Orlando’s theme-park corridor or Florida’s Space Coast as exact locations. Asked by Game Informer about Disney World, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, Cape Canaveral and Kennedy Space Center, Rockstar environment-art executive Paul MacPherson said the team distills Florida’s landscapes and landmarks according to the needs of the game. His answer signals omission or transformation, but does not rule out smaller parodies, references or attractions elsewhere on the map.

What Rockstar was asked

Game Informer specifically raised central Florida’s Orlando-area parks—Disney World, Universal Studios and SeaWorld—and the eastern Space Coast, including Cape Canaveral and Kennedy Space Center. These are major parts of Florida’s public identity but do not correspond to any of the six primary Leonida regions Rockstar has announced.

Rockstar’s answer is about curation

Paul MacPherson said the team continually evaluates landscapes, towns, structures, landmarks, vistas, plant species and rock formations before working with design and narrative to select what best serves the game. He added that Leonida may not contain those exact locations but is built to deliver a full Florida experience. The emphasis is on function and variety, not geographical completeness.

‘May not have’ is not an absolute ban

IGN correctly treats the statement as a strong suggestion rather than a categorical confirmation that every equivalent is absent. Rockstar could still include a fictional attraction, fairground, launch reference or satirical brand without recreating Orlando or the Space Coast as full regions. Claims that Disney, NASA or every related parody has been definitively removed go beyond the quotation.

The six announced regions show Rockstar’s priorities

Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga emphasize Miami, island roads, wetlands, declining coastal tourism, industry and northern wilderness. That selection supports Rockstar’s stated goal of contrast and gameplay density. It does not establish the exact boundary, travel time or absence of smaller unannounced settlements.

Why a fictional map cannot be read as a checklist

Real-world comparisons are useful for understanding inspiration, but they can turn speculation into false confirmation when every Florida landmark is assigned a place. Rockstar’s answer makes clear that the map is distilled with narrative and game design. A missing one-to-one landmark is therefore not evidence of cut content, legal trouble or a future expansion.

What remains to verify at launch

The final game will show whether Leonida contains smaller amusement areas, space-industry jokes, rockets, tourism ads or other indirect references. Until then, the defensible conclusion is narrow: players should not expect exact recreations of Orlando’s major parks or the Space Coast, while parody-level nods remain possible and unconfirmed.
